Boho Cake Smash and Splash Session | Bashe + Still Photography Murrieta CA

As the saying goes "The days are long but the years are short". My youngest (and final) baby turned the big O-N-E and I cant believe how quickly that year came and went. I think being in a global pandemic also somehow put the year in hyper speed. Parker's baby shower had a neutral boho theme so naturally we carried that theme over to her cake smash session. I was even able to use some of the same decor from our shower like the pampas grass, palm leaves and flowers. (pardon the not so amazing cell shots, but you get the idea lol)

Neither of my two other daughters ever really went IN on

their cakes during their cake smash sessions, but I had high hopes for Parker. Those hopes were quickly crushed when she wanted absolutely nothing to do with her cake lol. The amount of times it took placing her to even sit remotely close to the cake was comical. I couldn't even be mad though because who doesn't love a good fall on the floor cry baby picture! Perfect senior year yearbook material right there.

Luckily her Dad and big sisters came to the rescue. After pretty much every nursery rhyme and HOURS (you read that right, hours) we were able to convince her to finally try the cake. She wasn't the biggest fan so most of the frosting was actually smeared on her by her dad. fortunately this type of session only requires a few bites of cake to give the illusion your child actually enjoyed it lol.

When I saw this tub prop I knew I needed it for the "splash" portion of Parkers session. I mean, does it get any cuter than a baby in a miniature claw foot tub? The answer is no lol. Much to my surprise this was her favorite part! There was about 2 minutes of apprehension and then she lit up. Parker was by far my toughest cake smash and splash client but it was 100% worth it! If you are thinking about capturing your little one with a milestone session please don't hesitate to reach out!
